After several releases on his own Backwards Records label (2001's "Step Down In" and 2003's "Skin Problems"), Patrick Urn (aka Syphilis Sauna) offers up his first release on Decisive Sound in the form of a 7 track EP entitled "There Inside." The EP features everything From experimental dark ambient noise ("A Pathetic People") to haunting beat-driven IDM ("Syyth (Live N Broken)"). "There Inside" also features a 14+ minute bonus track from Jeff Swearengin of Sleep Clinic. Syphilis Sauna is the solo project of Patrick Urn. Using a blend of Hardware, Software, acoustic and homemade devices, Syphilis Sauna creates walls of glitched out noise that evolve into haunting melodies and dark pseudo rhythms. Syphilis Sauna's main influences are literary, including P.K.D, Hp. Lovecraft and JG. Ballard. Be sure to check out Patrick's own label Backwards Records for more noise related releases.
